I was surprised to hear that Kinston still allowed smoking in the stands at their ballpark. What other ballparks still allow this ? I wasn't aware that
there was any left as I haven't come across any in my travels in quite awhile. I know when I visited St. Paul in 1998 and Little Rock in 2000 they still
allowed it, but since then I know they have both banned it. I guess there must still be a few stragglers in the south and midwest ...

I wonder if this is something unique to the big tobacco states like NC and VA (depending on local statutes, of course).

Smoking is prohibited in the seating areas for the State College Spikes games.
However, smoking is permitted on the 'fun deck' down the right field line, between the regular seating area and the bleacher section. It has a concession stand and overlooks the home bullpen. I don't smoke regularly, but I do enjoy a cigar there from time to time. |

The St. Paul Saints have allowed smoking (cigarette, cigar & pipe) in all but a few sections of the ballpark for the past 15 seasons. More than a few
new/casual fans are surprised by this exception to the "new rules." I don't think they have any plans to change the rules for this season.
